20A Growing Your Social Capital

Person 1
1) Who they are and what their background is.
My grandfather, Howard.
2) Which 'slot' you are filling with each person (i.e., domain expert, market expert, supplier), and how the person fills the spot.
He is filling the spot of "Domain Expert"
3) A description of how you found the person and contacted the person.
My grandfather frequently volunteers at Boca Helping Hands, a local soup kitchen with two locations around Florida.  Since he has been volunteering there for such a long time, he has become an expert in cooking mass quantities of food and getting to know the business of helping the less fortunate.
4) The nature of the exchange you have with the person -- what favor did they do for you? What is the return expectation?
If I needed help in my business of Homeward Bound Florida providing for the homeless of Alachua County, Howard would help me with the food aspect, helping to make mass quantities of food for the people at the facility.
5) How will including this person in your network enhance your ability to exploit an opportunity?
Not only will Howard help me with his expertise, but he will introduce me with other people he has met while volunteering for the soup kitchen.

1) Who they are and what their background is.
My dad, Steve who is the executive director of our temple.
2) Which 'slot' you are filling with each person (i.e., domain expert, market expert, supplier), and how the person fills the spot.
Steve is a Market Expert because he runs a nonprofit business, Temple Beth El in Boca Raton.  I would also be running a nonprofit.
3) A description of how you found the person and contacted the person.
He is my dad and we live in the same house, so communication is easy.
4) The nature of the exchange you have with the person -- what favor did they do for you? What is the return expectation?
If I were to start a nonprofit business, he would likely go in on it with me.  We would work as business partners, and he would use his market expertise in nonprofit to advise the business.
5) How will including this person in your network enhance your ability to exploit an opportunity?
Steve has experience helping large numbers of people and working closely with charities in his role as Executive Director of a nonprofit.

I called Eric on the phone, due to social distancing.

By knowing Eric, I get good customer service at Cisco and get a steady stream of food to Homeward Bound which I can supply to the less fortunate.
